「名残」Last days of summer
Ahead of autumn. People watching on the RER, a stroll in the first arrondissement, gimbap lunch at Palais Royal, haircut, letter writing at CDG airport, and a Japanese word to describe the last days before a season ends.
Angkor / Rabindranath Tagore
A sense of strength and fragility combined.
The strength of nature.
The fragility of nature.
The strength of human beings.
The fragility of human beings.
The strength of fragile things.
The fragility of strong things.
One tangled with the other, alternating endlessly…
The harmony of opposites.

Sri Lanka, seaside II [drawings]
The completeness of incomplete drawings.
Singapore / Perec
Returning to Singapore after many years, reading Georges Perec, and thinking about the relationship between cities, people and the passage of time.
Last hours in Colombo
Some places are said to not draw much attention nor make any impression. Yet such places can leave traces through a set of unexpected circumstances, events, and emotions. Colombo turned out to be that sort of place for me.
Time travel
Soaking up the moments that will not repeat in the same way again.
Sri Lanka, seaside I [drawings]
Finding solace in colors and lines.
A single moment can be captured through a thousand variations.
Each with its own hue.
Something basic like this shows that possibilities are endless.

The beauty of unsolved mysteries
Rather than a place, Wat Phou is a feeling, an emotion… brought from the past.
The scattered ruins of the Hindu-Khmer complex, now blending with the tropical mountain landscape, hold their hidden secrets to this day.
Wat Phou’s history is like an un-decoded cipher that archeologists still struggle to piece back together.

Sitting still in front of moving traffic
Moving alongside people
Watching the world go by
On the road, grace is found in chaos
Dust lifting up against the asphalt
Endless flow of life.
[from Delhi]
From the major commuter road, one could never imagine this peaceful corner, tucked at the end of a leafy passageway. Night and day, a pack of stray dogs were guarding the museum entrance with devotion.
September
With its warm daylight and chilly morning breeze
The ‘back-to-school’ feeling that hints at all the things left to do, and to look forward to…
Looking at my own archive of decade-old images.
I reminisce past moments and wonder if they will be reborn as new narratives.
Some things become visible as time passes, through the contrasts that life offers.
[from London] post-event notes
Is home a location? An environment, a feeling? What makes us feel “at home”?
A few thoughts shared during the event At Home, which took place at P21 Gallery in London.
Poterie Ravel

Summer begins
A decade of notes etc…
Diving into a decade of old notes, photographs and sketches to make a new composition out of fragments of the past.
Turning corners
[Notes from George Town, Malaysia]
Return after five years.
Looking at heritage, as one element that is embedded in the flow of everyday life.
