Documentary Heritage at Risk
As environmental threats multiply around the world and the number of devastating events increase, access to information is at greater risk. The possibility to sustain valuable knowledge depends on the future of archives, libraries, museums and other memory institutions. This project led by UNESCO Bangkok develops tools and activities to support the development of disaster management skills in Asia-Pacific.

Internet Freedom Beyond Words
Coinciding with World Press Freedom Day, and in line with UNESCO’s Internet Universality concept, the workshop and exhibition gathered visual artists and creative communication professionals from the ASEAN region.
The project highlighted concepts of Internet freedom and human rights through the creative visual interpretations of a sensitive subject.

Saneha, Vientiane, Laos
Saneha is the retail space and jewellery brand of designer Vanida Phimphachanh. This concept is an ongoing collaboration that takes Lao culture, ancient wisdom and the timeless landscape of the Mekong as inspiration for contemporary creations.

Craft Explorers, Penang, Malaysia
This exhibition gathered multiple perspectives on the people and cultures of the Mekong region: from the remote villages of Kayah State in Myanmar (Tessa Bunney), to the urban creativity of Chiang Mai (The Kindcraft), the high-skilled artisanship of silk production in Cambodia (Magali An Berthon), the "reincarnated" woodcarving practices in Hue (fashion4Freedom), and the humble pottery of Luang Prabang (CRAFTED).

Handmade Stories, Laos
Somewhere in the world is a tiny road that connects the real and the imaginary... Handmade Stories gave Lao children and youths the possibility to explore their creative potential through a workshop series in collaboration with artists and designers.

On the Line, London, UK
An exhibition about handmade textiles, the evolution of traditional knowledge, and the social conditions of women weavers in southeast Asia. The show displayed the findings of a cross-cultural research trip organized by the British Council’s regional office in East Asia.

Craft Reveals, Chiang Mai, Thailand
Craft Reveals invited practitioners, activists and researchers to share their stories about traditional crafts, sustainable design and social innovation.
The conference opened up questions and called for a deeper relationship between makers and designers to foster social change and new forms of global transitions.
