Started work on a new branding project for a retail space dedicated to local crafts in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The inspiration is drawn from the natural environment of the region, the shapes found in nature, the idea of biodiversity and ecology. As most traditional crafts are derived from the local natural environment, the brand will try to reflect and capture those core elements.
I haven’t been able to drink coffee for over 10 years now but in Paris I need to sip a noisette (macchiato) every once in a while to get into the city spirit. I order a déca (decaffeinated) to avoid a racing heart. It smells the same, almost tastes the same… Then I watch the people walk by, from a terrace or through a bay window, like a true Parisian should. A favourite spot is Café Marly, at Musée du Louvre 75001 Paris.
Launched at select LOFT and PARCO PLAZA stores in Japan, is the Necoco organic hair milk product for which I did the brand and illustration.
CRAFTED a modest publication inspired by my love for objects, cultures, places, journeys, and encounters. It is not a website, only a Facebook page through which will be issued occasional volumes. Take a look and see what VOLUME ONE will have in store for you. Click the “Like” button on the page to subscribe, and share with friends! Thanking you all in advance for your much needed support ~ LINK: http://www.facebook.com/crafted2.0
My first commissioned portrait. He is the kind of guy who gets attacked by mean crows and is mesmerised by pictures of food.
Went to the art supply store Sennelier today to find these amazing traditional Japanese watercolours. I wish I could have bought them all… The plan is to leave my Bamboo tablet aside and paint on my recent stock of Lao handmade paper…
