From Paris

A brief stay in Paris which was marked by the beginning of the war in Ukraine.

Unable to think of much else, I walked the familiar streets of the city with different eyes. Seeing a blue sunny sky outside my window on a peaceful Saturday morning appeared as a gift. 2000 km away, people were fighting for their lives or holding on to the last remnants of what they used to call “home”.

Parisians on every corner could be heard speaking about geopolitics and diplomacy, scrambling to make sense of it all. Despite it all, life continued its course as usual.

Overall, Paris felt familiar as if I had never left. Only the sight of old shops with empty window displays gave me the sense that an era is closing… A page turns. Something new begins.
